President's Message January 1, 2008 Dear Membership, Welcome back from the Holidays! As we ring in the New Year with new ideas and expectations, I would like to first thank the 2007 Board for their leadership and dedication to our chapter. With companies doing more with fewer employees I think we all feel stretched at some point during the year but our Board members found the time to lead the way for our chapter to continue to move ahead and soar to new heights in 2008. Our focus this year will be on Best Practices in Contingency planning. Our monthly meetings will cover the main elements of a Business Continuity program and provide tools and templates to assist you in following best practices for contingency planning. Look forward to some great presenters with information to take back and use at your place of business. We have plans for a fantastic 2008 Symposium that will provide exciting and new learning experiences on the most “hot topics” in the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery industry. Be sure to check our website often for the latest information on upcoming events. The 2008 Board will start working in January to establish goals and objectives for the upcoming year. We will work to make significant contributions to our members and to the Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Emergency Management professions. I am excited and honored to serve as your 2008 President and although I have some big shoes to fill (I’ll stuff them if I have to) I will do my best to help meet our members’ needs and to help provide opportunities and services that help our members grow as well as promote our profession.
